Blue Crew Numbers Sky-Rocket, Volleyball Foes Beware

The Blue Crew spirit club at Wharton High School is growing at a tremendous rate!

Last year, after a lackluster 15-14 season on the hardwood and coaching change, the Blue Crew saw a monumental decrease of attendees at basketball games after the groups prestigious up-welling in '07.

That is all about to change.

Wharton's largest club by far is growing at an alarming rate. Last year, the Blue Crew club consisted of 75 members. This past Tuesday at the club's first official meeting, 176 members attended and countless more are signing up to be apart of the growing tradition.

Friday night, the Wharton football team played host to nationally-ranked Armwood High School and the Blue Crew was in attendance, proud and painted. The club is also making it's presence known at the school's volleyball games, rattling opposing teams and their parents and fans.

The proof is in the face-paint. The '09-'10 school year has barely started and already the Blue Crew is making its presence known.
